Hessinger and Kilfin Law was established in 2005 after Tim Hessinger left the Pinellas County State Attorney's Office, where he served as a prosecutor for 15 years. During his tenure, Tim was a member of an elite unit that prosecuted major crimes. He handled some of the most highly publicized cases in the Tampa Bay Area. During the last eight years of Tim's career as a prosecutor he was solely responsible for prosecuting all of the child murder cases in Pinellas County, along with other high profile cases that garnered major media attention. Tim developed a reputation as a tough but fair lawyer who
zealously prosecuted each of his cases.
Since leaving the State Attorneys Office in February of 2005, Tim has drawn on those experiences as a prosecutor to successfully defend hundreds of criminal cases. He has continued to handle some of the most publicized cases in the Tampa Bay Area, achieving superior results for his clients.
The success of Hessinger and Kilfin Law created the need for another attorney devoted to criminal law and familiar with the dynamics of the State Attorneys Office. Donald Kilfin, an experienced trial lawyer who served for six years as a Pinellas County prosecutor, was the perfect fit.
Donald is a nine-year lawyer who has handled many complicated and high-profile cases, including several murder cases in which the State was seeking the death penalty.
